Holding Space: Energy & Anatomy of Touch
Touch has the power to reveal our histories and heal our bodies. In a yoga setting, touch is one way we communicate with our clients/students, often inviting them to go deeper. Moving bodies safely is one important aspect of touch and is learned through the anatomy of movement and exploration of edges. Holding Space comes from an understanding of both the physical and energetic qualities of touch. The 20-hour experiential course, offered by Wake Up Yoga, explores yogic touch and deep posture assists from the perspective of the physical and energetic bodies. Using observation and hands-on practice, students will learn how to appropriately and safely move bodies, gain an understanding of the intention of touch and how to work with various levels of pressure and intensity, how to work with boundaries, and how to hold space.
