It might seem like just another toy or simple gesture, to you. But for a child in need, a brand-new toy on Christmas can bring the magic to their Christmas morning that they never expected or dreamt of. This heartful, thoughtful gesture can deliver a message of hope that may change the future of a less fortunate, innocent child. One toy and selfless donation by a stranger may teach a young child how to be responsible, productive, and patriotic citizens, like those that donate to this wonderful cause.
The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.
How can you get involved?
1) Become a Toy Drop Site and collect toys at your business location. Ideal locations have lots of customers and foot traffic.
2) Make a monetary donation online. No amount is too small – every donation helps!
3) Donate toys at your local drop off site. Children of all ages need that special gift. Each year, there are certain age/gender groups that do not receive enough toys through donations. Please consider donating a toy for an older boy/girl (12+ years of age) as well as toys for ages 18 months up.
Toy donation guidelines:
The best donations are sporting goods, toy cars/planes/boats, dolls (Barbie, G. I. Joe, etc.), board games, books, bicycles, scooters, puzzles, models, hand-held video games and small electronics. Please consider when selecting a toy, keep in mind it may be the only one a child will receive.
