While we’re entering into what’s typically considered “the most wonderful time of the year,” things have been feeling pretty heavy lately. (Well, all of 2020, TBH!) Instead of focusing on the negative, we invite you to take some time this week to make your home feel extra special, cozy, and festive for Thanksgiving next week. Because even during the hard times, there are always reasons to be thankful.
We talked to local blogger Chrissy from Blushed Living about some of her favorite ways to decorate her home:
1. Tablescapes set the stage for the meal! Even if this year’s group will be smaller, don’t let that stop you from creating a fun table setting. (The table in the picture seats 4-6 people.) Don’t worry about perfect symmetry. Play with height and sizes of objects. If you are using height, remember to make sure that people can still see one another across the table.
5. Add fall touches in all rooms. IE: pumpkin candles on coffee bar, faux leaves in a vase in kid rooms. Keep decor in kid rooms fun with bright or playful pumpkins.
About Chrissy
Chrissy is a native New Yorker but has lived in Bucks County for almost a decade. Her husband, Chris, is also a native New Yorker who had similar dreams to live in PA. Her sweet daughter, Celeste, is the center of her universe. She also has an adorable pup, Bauer. Her day job is a Director of a Marketing company. She is passionate about working mamas—especially in tech.
“I feel alive when I am having fun with my family, connecting with women, decorating my house to feel cozy, wearing clothes that make me feel good, and finding the light around me,” said Chrissy. “One year ago, I reflected on how other women who share openly helped me feel less lonely and learn self-love. I officially launched BlushedLiving.com with a dream to create a space for other women to know they are never alone.”
