TIPS & TRICKS FOR A STRONG START TO THE YEAR

A little preparation before the first day can help make mornings smoother, reduce stress, and set the tone for a successful year. These simple tips can help your family ease back into the school routine with confidence.

  1. Start the routine early. Begin adjusting bedtimes, wake-up times and meal schedules about a week before school starts.
  2. Create a simple morning checklist. A simple list can help kids become more independent and keep mornings on track
  3. Prep the night before. Pack lunches, lay out clothes and organize backpacks to avoid the morning rush.
  4. Set up a homework station. Designate a quiet, organized space stocked with school supplies for after-school work.
  5. Label everything. Water bottles, lunch boxes, jackets and supplies are much more likely to make it back home if they are labeled.

Kumon Math and Reading Center of Center City West

238 N 22nd St First Floor, Philadelphia, PA
(215) 564-6284

Kumon helps develop the confidence in students to become self-learners. Your free assessment helps us understand your child’s current learning level so they can recommend the best starting point. The program was created by a dad who wanted the best for his son. Instead of taking notes, memorizing facts, and being fed information from teachers or a tutor, your child actively develops critical, self-learning skills. Kumon accomplishes this through: carefully designed worksheets, step-by-step advancement, and learning that is truly absorbed.
