Meet Guy!

Guy is a 6-year-old Pit Bull Mix looking for a home preferably with an experienced dog owner.  He has been at the Morris Animal Refuge since December 17th, which is a pretty long time for him.  The refuge is also in great need of finding homes for bigger dogs like Guy, he is about 55-60 pounds, since they only have kennel space for 5 big dogs at a time and it can be difficult to get him the exercise he needs.

Guy is ready for a friend to show him the ropes of training and doing this in a steady home would be perfect.  He has a lot of energy and would love to make friends with an active, dog-loving family!  If your household already has pets that might be OK for Guy.  He is a dog’s dog and another pup might help in his training process.  He has not been tested around cats and the Morris Animal Refuge recommends talking with them and testing out your home and other household members before committing to any adoptions. Kids are OK for Guy too, so long as they are a part of the training process!

Adoptions at the Morris Animal Refuge are easy, especially this month!  Receive a $25 discount this January on any adoption of an adult animal.  Adoption fees usually range from $75-$150 for dogs and the Refuge is happy to work out a deal to get dogs like Guy, who are in special need of a home, into a loving family.  The Adoption fee includes a pet that is spayed/neutered, up to date on all shots, and a Welcome Home packet that includes samples of the food he/she is currently eating, treats, a collar and leash, and even discounts on training, and more!

If you feel for Guy but you aren’t quite ready to commit, the Morris Animal Refuge is always looking for foster homes to free up space in the Kennel and give the dogs an opportunity to experience some steady training in a home.  If you are interested in fostering or adopting visit the great folks at the Morris Animal Refuge at 12th and Lombard, click here to visit their website, or give them a call at 215-735-9570.  Here’s hoping Guy finds a Fur-ever home soon!
