On July 16 Glen Foerd, a historic estate located on 18-acres at the confluence of the Poquessing Creek and Delaware River, will host their second concert of its three part summer Riverside Concert Series. The concert will feature the speakeasy sounds of the Blackbird Society Orchestra.
The Blackbird Society Orchestra is an 11 piece 1920s hot jazz orchestra that will take you back to the music of the Jazz Age. In the 1920s and 30s the historic Glen Foerd estate was in its prime as it expanded to include a farm and planned garden landscape.
The final concert, on August 20th, will have concert goers dancing to the big band and swing music of the Monday Blues Swing Orchestra.
Concerts will be held in the estate’s outdoor event structure overlooking the Delaware River and will feature one hour uninterrupted sets beginning at 7:00 p.m. and ending at 8:00 p.m.
Admission is pay what you wish, with no set admission price. Proceeds from the concerts will benefit the Glen Foerd estate and the concert artists. Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs, pack a picnic dinner and enjoy the show. This year’s concert goers can also purchase tasty treats on-site from The Dining Car’s bakery.
