2025 Happening List Winner – Ice Cream

Located in Old City, The Franklin Fountain is a recreation of a 1915 ice cream parlor that serves a variety of ice creams, sorbets, sundaes, milkshakes, house sodas and more. They also have vegan sorbet and ice cream flavors, including Chocolate, Mint-Chip, Strawberry, Mango Ice, and Strawberry-Guava Ice. The shop was founded in 2004 by the Berley Brothers who named the parlor after being inspired by a marble Benjamin Franklin portrait and his legacy. Stop by to try delicious flavors like Caramelized Banana, Fudge Brownie, Honeycomb, Sea Salt Caramel and so much more.

Milk Jawn serves award-winning small-batch premium ice cream, and has locations in South Philly and Northern Liberties. They use fresh, local PA dairy and make their ice cream Philly-style (without eggs). Their Signature Flavors include Tahini Fudge Swirl, Malted Milk Toffee Crunch, Lemon Curd with Blueberry Basil Swirl and more. They also offer Vegan Jawn flavors such as Earl Grey with Honeycomb, Mango Sticky Rice, and Cookies & Cream. They offer many Gluten Free and Vegan sorbet and ice cream flavors as well, so there is truly something for everyone. Weckerly’s also offers ice cream sandwiches, soft serve and coffee.
