Flavors on the Avenue
When: Sunday, April 28 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: East Passyunk Avenue
East Passyunk Avenue presents its third annual Flavors of the Avenue street festival with five blocks of music, shopping and family fun. More than two dozen of the neighborhood’s most popular restaurants and bars will serve up street food, small plates, craft beer, wine and seasonal drinks. In addition to the food and drink, there will be sidewalk sales, live music, activities, artwork and more.
Philadelphia Science Festival
When: April 26 through May 4
Where: Various locations including The Franklin Institute, 222 N. 20th Street
The Philadelphia Science Festival features lectures, debates, hands-on activities and special exhibits proving that science is fun for all ages! This yea, it’s bigger and better than every with 9 days of events, culminating with a massive Science Carnival on May 4. Click here for more information.
The Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival
When: May 1 through June 30
Where: Franklin Square, 200 N. 6th Street
When the sun sets on May 1, Franklin Square will come alive with thousands of LED lights strewn across different displays of intricate, handcrafted lanterns constructed by artisan from China. The centerpiece of the 2019 festival is a 200-foot-long phoenix that stands 21-feet tall and weighs 6,000 pounds. In addition to the lanterns, the festival features a variety of Chinese entertainment and art such ad acrobatics, martial arts, folk dancing and more. Purchase tickets here.

South Street Spring Festival
When: Saturday, May 4 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: Front Street to 8th Street plus Headhouse Plaza at 2nd Street and South Street
The region’s largest spring festival heads back to one of America’s most iconic streets for an all-day, all-ages celebration. Look forward to over 30 restaurants, 20 bands, 3 stages, more than 125 vendors, family fun zones and more! Some of the special events this year include: National Comic Book Day/Free Comic Giveaways, Philadelphia’s Largest Maypole at Brauhaus Schmitz, Derby Day specials, Cinco de Mayo Specials and a Philly Taco Eating Contest!

Rittenhouse Row Spring Festival
When: Saturday, May 18
Where: 18th Street and Walnut Street
The Rittenhouse Row Spring Festival is one of the most popular in the area, showcasing the neighborhoods, food, fashion, arts and entertainment. Dozens of restaurants set up stands along the sidewalks of Walnut Street. Plus, there’s outdoor shopping, fashion events, live music and more.
The South 9th Street Italian Market Festival
When: Saturday and Sunday, May 18 and May 19 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: 9th Street and Washington Avenue
Everyone’s a little Italian during the Italian Market Festival! Come hungry, as this event is ALL about the food! Enjoy nearly every Italian and Italian-American delicacy you can imagine, plus live entertainment and activities such a half-ball tournament and grease pole competition.
Odunde Festival
When: Sunday, June 9
Where: South 23rd Street and South Street
Get a taste of African on South Street! Odunde is the East Coast’s largest African-American street festival, celebrating the Yoruba New Year. Stroll the area from 23rd and Lombard streets to Grays Ferry Avenue and Christian Street, enjoying food, live music, vendors and more. Leading up to the festival, there is a week of events. PrideDay LGBT Parade and Festival
When: Friday, June 7 – Sunday, June 9
Where: 13th and Locust Streets and Penn’s Landing
In celebration of International Gay and Lesbian Pride Month, Philly’s pride events feature lives music, vendors, DJs, food and drinks and more. The weekend’s festivities start with a kick-off party from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday night at 12th and Locust Streets. And then there’s a parade on Sunday that starts at 11:30 a.m. at 13th and Locust and reaches the Festival location at the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing around 1 p.m. Festival gates open at noon.
