“This is the true story of seven strangers, picked to live in a house, work together, and have their lives taped. Find out what happens, when people stop being polite, and start getting real.” -Real World

New York Cast

Even if you’re not an avid viewer, chances are you know of MTV’s reality show “Real World.”

The show, originally produced by Mary-Ellis Bunim and Jonathan Murray, first broadcast in 1992 and is the longest-running program in MTV historyEach season, the show’s producers pick a diverse group of seven to eight people in their late teens to mid-20s to live together in a house in a major city. As viewers, we get to watch the “cast’s” spontaneous, unscripted interactions with one another and the world around them.

How do you get on the show?

It’s actually pretty simple for Philadelphian’s this year. All you have to do is go to the casting call they’re holding at Paddy Whack’s Irish Sports Pub at 2nd and South on Saturday, August 1 between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. and show them why you deserve to be on the show.

And her’s some advice from someone who auditioned at a casting call back in 2001 and got rejected (yes, that’s me), make sure you show your quirkiest personality traits!
