There are tons of terrific ways to ring in the holiday season and steal away a few moments with our favorite man in red, Santa Claus. All Aboard for the Santa Express!

Brought to you by SEPTA & GALLERY MARKET EAST

This joyous tradition will continue Friday, November 25th at the Gallery Mall, brought to you by SEPTA and the Gallery at  Market East. Two festively decorated train sets will operate along the  Market-Frankford line and one decorated train along the Broad Street line beginning at 10:00am, making all stops along the way. Santa and his helpers will ride the rails all the way to the Gallery at Market East, where a parade will follow in celebration of the 2011 holiday season. 

The Market-Frankford Line trains will depart at 10:00am from both the 69th Street Transportation Center and Frankford Transportation Center (Bridge Street Entrance). The train departing from 69th Street Transportation Center is scheduled to arrive at Market East at 10:17am; the train departing from the Frankford Transportation Center is scheduled to arrive at Market East at 10:22am.

The Broad Street Line will depart the Fern Rock Transportation Center at 10:00 a.m. Note: this train will make only Express stops. The train is scheduled to arrive at Market East at 10:17 a.m.

SEPTA will also have decorated holiday trains running on the Media/Elwyn line and Warminster Line. Please visit SEPTA for timetables and more details.

FRANKLIN MILLS MALL beginning November 11th through December 24th. Santa is available for holiday photos during the following hours, as listed on the Franklin Mills Facebook event page here.

Monday – Thursday – 11am – 8pm
Breaks to feed his reindeer are 1pm – 1:45pm & 4:30pm – 5:15pm

Friday – Saturday – 10am – 9pm

Don’t forget your furry family members this season

Don’t forget about your furry family members too! The Franklin Mills Mall is hosting two Pet Photos with Santa events on Sunday, November 28, 2010: 5:00pm – 7:00pm and Sunday, December 5, 2010: 6:00pm – 8:00pm. Photos will be taken at the Grand Court of the Franklin Mills Mall at Santa’s Workshop.

The Gallery Mall at Market East is hosting pet photos with Santa every Monday evening from 5:00pm until mall closing, November 28th through December 12th. The Gallerys asks you to please use the Mall entrance at the corner of 9th and Market Streets. All pet owners will be asked to sign a release form prior to seeing Santa as well.

Please note that all pets must remain on a leash at the above events, and that pet owners are responsible for their pets. See each mall location for other rules and regulations.

Over at the South Street HeadHouse District you can welcome Santa on December 4th at 5:00pm at the historic HeadHouse Square, which will be followed by a beautiful tree lighting at 6:00pm during the Winter Wonderland event. Please visit here for detailed information.

 

Christmas Village at Love Park

And last but certainly not least,  the grandest of all city Christmas attractions has to be the Christmas Villagein Love Park. This market is uniquely modeled after traditional German markets, and is open from Thanksgiving through Christmas Eve. Let the wafting smells of gingerbread, bratwurst, and mulled wines welcome you, putting everyone in a holly jolly mood. More than 50 vendors will sell an assortment of holiday treats, crafts, and gifts, including ornaments, jewelry and traditional European foods. Attractions include daily live musical performances on Center Stage, Sunday Family Days, Annual tree lighting ceremony, charity days and German American Day.

Love Park hosts Christmas Village 2011

The market is open daily from November 25th through December 24th from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m Sunday to Thursday and from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m Friday and Saturday. As always admission is FREE to the village. Come enjoy the most wonderful time of the year!
