This week we sat down with Alanna Ralph of Alanna Ralph Photography and Salon Blush of Philadelphia.`
So powerfully capturing the pain, the anguish, the sadness, and devastation of her subjects, one thing is for sure- Alanna Ralph is real, raw, and ridiculously talented. As a self taught photographer, forever pushing the limits and looking to capture the real emotion of the moment, Alanna believes that “everyone can relate to dark art”, and we think you will agree.
Don’t be alarmed by the raw nature of Alanna’s darker photos, zombie photo shoots, and urban photography, she also has a softer side, a side that captures the true beauty of every woman. Alanna strongly believes that women shouldn’t compare themselves to the flawless, super skinny women plastered all over media today. She believes that we are all beautiful and she can capture your own personal beauty, both inner and outer.
At Salon Blush, which opened it’s doors in 2007 in the Fishtown section of Philadelphia, women can be pampered with reasonably priced hair, skin, make-up and nail services, as well as professional photography services next door at Blush Photography which opened in 2010.

Salon Blush offers vintage hairstyling such as, finger waving, victory rolls. reverse rolls, and pin-curls. The best part about their vintage styling is after you are transformed into a vintage vixen, complete with a flawless airbrushed make-up application (done by Alanna herself), you can step next door into Alanna’s photography studio, Blush Photography, where she offer’s Pin-up parties and boudoir photo shoots.

Salon Blush is proudly the only Philadelphia salon to offer this variety of beauty services combined with professional photography. Not sure if you could feel relaxed enough to be photographed so femininely? Then Alanna is definitely the happening woman you need in your life.
It’s because of her girlfriendesque quality she so casually and warmly exudes, that women feel completely comfortable being the subject of a boudoir photo shoot, often wearing little more than lace and feathers. All shoots are completely private (unless requested otherwise), where Alanna easily talks to you making you feel less like a model and more like yourself.
