Many of you are most likely familiar with the American Red Cross and the great work they do for those in need, but did you know that there is a red cross organization for our furry friends too? Red Paw Emergency Relief Team provides 24/7 emergency shelter, transportation and veterinary care to animals displaced by a fire or other disaster in their home, 365 days per year.

Interesting Facts:

◦63% (69,000,000) American families have pets

◦On average there are 2.5 residential fires in Philadelphia every day

◦There are resources available to support families (people) in disaster situations

◦Nothing exists locally to proactively rescue animals in residential disaster situations

◦Animals are often left homeless or perish

Working with an network of volunteers, veterinary care facilities, boarding centers, foster families, local rescue groups and more, Red Paw Emergency Relief Team see that your animal is a number one priority. At the very moment you are experiencing possibly the most terrifying event of your life, a Red Paw responder will be dispatched to assess and care for your pet when you are not able to. Responders will assess your pets needs, whether they need emergency veterinary care or just a warm blanket and transportation, how ever they can help they are there.
