GalleryPrograms YogaThanks to the William Penn Foundation, Wednesday nights at the Art Museum have gotten a lot more fun! From 5:00 to 8:45 p.m. you can explore the Museum’s main building and its remarkable collection in exciting and illuminating new ways.

Show your creative side with Make Stuff, a drop-in art-making workshop. Practice your poses during weekly yoga sessions. Or play a game in the galleries with friends or other Museum visitors — supplies are complimentary. And on the last Wednesday of the month, enjoy one-night-only events in which regional artists, musicians, and local cultural organizations respond to the collection in innovative ways.

Stephen Starr Events Interactive Chef Demonstration Series
Location: The Cafeteria
$45 ($40 for Members) includes General Admission

The intimate, 90-minute classes will offer participants first-hand tutorials on global cuisine. Executive Chef Gerald Drummond, accompanied by guest chefs from the Stephen Starr restaurant group, will lead the demonstrations for each class and assistant chefs will be on hand to offer extra attention and to help with techniques. Each participant will sample the food created during the class and will received recipes for all dishes, as well as a special parting gift.

Kensington’s annual Sculpture Derby comes to the East Terrace. Learn about kinetic sculptures and meet the creators behind the masterpieces that have an entire neighborhood dressing up.

Streets Dept Presents: The Evolution of Street Art
6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Some of today’s most active and exciting artists share how they use public space (both legally and otherwise) to create dialogue, display their work, and enliven the streets of Philadelphia. The panel includes Gaia, Joe Boruchow, Ishknits, Harlequinade, and Kid Hazo. Host Conrad Benner is the founder and editor of Streetsdept.com, a Philadelphia-focused photo blog that documents and celebrates street art, graffiti, and urban exploration. Benner’s work with Streets Dept recently saw him named the city’s “Best Art Curator” byPhiladelphia Magazine.

Rocha Dance Theater

Wednesday, June 24, 2015 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Rocha Dance Theater celebrates the exhibition Dance: Movement, Rhythm, Spectacle with an in-gallery performance. Based in Brooklyn, this innovative dance company interprets modern, jazz, ballet, and hip-hop dance genres using a bold and unique language of dance theater. The program begins with a curatorial tour of the exhibition.

Garden Soirée

Location: Anne d’Harnoncourt Sculpture Garden
Channel your inner Impressionist with an art party in the Museum’s sculpture garden. Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School returns with live models and drawing inspired by the exhibition Discovering the Impressionists: Paul Durand-Ruel and the New Painting. Enjoy lawn games, French-themed music, and food trucks with your friends and family. Bring a blanket!
