The Red Cross Walk & Run to Save Lives is a 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk taking place inside the Philadelphia Zoo on September 13 at 8:00 a.m. As one of the fundraisers for the Red Cross, the Walk & Run supports programs and services to help you, your family, and your neighbors prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.

Participate and honor the thousands of heroes who are trained by the Red Cross and are ready to help save your life. It is only with the support of friends like you that the Red Cross is able to answer the call for help, one family at a time, whenever and wherever disaster strikes. Step up by stepping out at the Red Cross Walk & Run to Save Lives.

Individuals participating can walk or run and raise pledges. Businesses, organizations, and groups can form their own teams of walkers and runners to show their support. Team captains receive a comprehensive kit filled with ideas on how to get the team moving.

Signing up is simple. You can register online for the Red Cross Walk & Run to Save Lives.

Along the 5K route, you will find water stations, and stops for those who need a rest. The event takes place rain or shine, so be sure to dress appropriately. Nothing can describe the camaraderie of joining those who share a commitment to our region. It’s all good fun for a worthy cause.

After the Walk/ Run participants can enjoy the rest of the day at the Zoo. Admission is included in registration.
