U-BahnPhilly’s Midtown Village will be getting a new restaurant, bar and music venue this holiday season.

U-Bahn – a modern, industrial inspired restaurant – will be taking over the space at 1320 Chestnut Street, where the former clothing store located beneath BRU Craft & Wurst lived, later this month. The new hot spot will pay homage to the German subway system with old railroad ties incorporated into the design, polished concrete floors, a twenty foot bar with a custom built tower and room for up to 25 stools with granite slab top, retro arcade games and much more.

Visitors making their way to U-Bahn will enjoy an all Pennsylvania line-up of bottle and draft beers, cheeseboards, sandwiches and other dishes that put an underground spin on Philly favorites. The restaurant’s stage will showcase members of the local music scene with spotlight on emerging talent.

For beer lovers this will be a “must try” with 18 taps at two bars with custom tower featuring Yards Philadelphia Pale Ale, Brawler Root Beer and two draft cocktails. The 12 regular taps will all rotate based upon style, all PA breweries, with an emphasis on German styles. Hand pump beer engine will feature unique beers, brewed and then cask conditioned with special ingredients specifically for U-Bahn.
