Photo Credit: WebMDOn Tuesday, October 20 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Philadelphians will have the opportunity to get a free brain cancer screening courtesy of the Brain Tumor Foundation’s one-of-a-kind traveling brain scan unit.

The traveling unit, a 70-foot truck, will be scanning people (by appointment) in front of the Comcast building on JFK Boulevard in Center City. The mobile MRI that will be done on the unit only takes about 15 minutes.

This is the second stop for the unit.  In Boston, where it stopped first, there were 153 people screened of which seven had abnormalities, three of which turned out to be tumors.

To make an appointment to be screened on October 20, call 844-BTF-SCAN (844-283-7226).
