Parx Casino in Bensalem officially launched sports betting at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 10. The Parx Casino sportsbook will be open for business in a temporary venue, the former 360 bar & lounge, as well as on kiosks throughout the casino floor. With the launch of sports betting, Parx will be a top game day destination and sports betting hotspot for NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA, College sports, soccer, MMA, golf and tennis.

Sports enthusiasts will be able to bet on all their favorite sports games, including NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, College Football, College Basketball and plenty more. The temporary sportsbook will be open seven days a week from 1 p.m. to 12 a.m. Monday, 1 p.m. to 1 a.m. Tuesday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 12 a.m. on Sunday. The space will feature 20 HD televisions screens of various sizes, and two sixteen by nine foot screens that can be split into four. In total, the temporary sportsbook can broadcast up to 28 games at the same time. The temporary sportsbook will also feature seven live teller windows, a full service bar, and comfortable seating to watch the games. Forty-five self-service sports betting kiosks will be available in the temporary sportsbook as well as throughout the casino floor and the Parx Poker Room.

“Parx is expanding our portfolio of offerings and giving patrons the absolute best of all types of legalized gaming. Sports betting will first go live at our main property, and then roll out in the South Philadelphia Turf Club and then later at the Valley Forge Turf Club.”  – Matthew Cullen, Senior VP of Interactive Gaming and Sports

Coming soon, pending PGCB approval, is a brand-new sports betting app called Betslip Builder. The online sports betting app can be utilized by retail players to fill out a bet slip before walking up to a kiosk or cashier to place their bets.  It will help reduce the wait time at a kiosk or cashier because players will need to simply scan the QR code and fund the bet, rather than having to pick their bets with a cashier/kiosk. This will improve and streamline the process during fast moving games.

The temporary sportsbook is only a small preview of what is to come for the future of sports betting at Parx Casino. The casino’s long-term plans for legalized sports betting include the construction of the Parx Sportsbook, a permanent $10M expansion project. When fully launched, guests will be able to place their sports bets at the brand new, state-of-the-art Parx Sportsbook slated to open in summer 2019.
