SliCE – an eatery that offers award-winning Trenton style pies in Rittenhouse Square, South Philadelphia and Washington Township – is not only celebrating the flavors of fall with the return of the Granny Pie, but is taking the art of pizza to eight new levels.
I’m sure some of you Philly dwellers have been awaiting the return of SliCE’s Granny Pie. For those of you who haven’t had the pleasure of tasting this mouthwatering masterpiece – get to it. The Granny Pie, which features sliced Granny Smith Apples baked with Gorgonzola cheese and cranberries and topped with candied walnuts, is available through the end of October.
SliCE not only brought back the Granny Pie, but now they’re enticing us with something new called the Pizza Cake. You heard that right, a Pizza CAKE! According to our sources this new concoction takes at least one-hour to make (in other words, call ahead!) and features eight layers of mozzarella, San Marzano tomato sauce and hand cut pepperoni. Make a note that this one is only available at the South Philly location.
The Philly Happening folks will be making their way to SliCE very soon, no doubt about that. SliCE owners Jason and Marlo Dilks just better watch out because we know who to blame if we can’t fit into our jeans come November.
