Cinco de Mayo Events
May 5th – Various locations

Cinco de Mayo celebrates Mexico’s win over the French in the Battle of Puebla on May 5th 1863 but here in the US it has taken on a whole new meaning.  The 5th of May is typically a time to celebrate Mexican-American culture including all the food and drink you can handle.  Here are some of the celebrations going on around the city:

Cinco de Mayo Party at Schmidts Commons, 5pm-10pm, 1001 North 2nd Street
Cinco de Mayo Block Party at El Reys, 1pm-11pm, 2013 Chestnut Street
Mexican beer tap-takeover at Mission Taqueria, 11:30am-midnight, 1516 Sansom Street
Cinco de Mayo celebration at Nick’s Old City Bar & Grille, 11am-close, 16 S. Second Street
