The first weekend of the month always brings us lot’s of deals and great things to do, and the month of April starts on Saturday!  Be sure to enjoy FREE First Sunday’s at the Barnes Museum and Pay-what-you-can First Sunday’s at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.  Here are some things to do in addition to these fabulously free events!

Cherry Blossom Festival
April 1-9 – Throughout the City

Washington D.C. isn’t the only place where the start of Spring is marked by beautiful pink and white blossoms.  The city of Philadelphia was gifted 1,600 Japanese Cherry Blossom tree’s in 1926 and the Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia has kept the effort of planting more tree’s througout the years alive.  Every year since 1998 Suburu has sponsored the Cherry Blossom Festival filled with fun ways to celebrate these popular tree’s that mark the start of Spring.  For festival information click here.

The King and I 
March 31-April 2 – The Academy of Music

Rodger’s and Hammerstein’s ever popular musical The King and I, which was recently revived on Broadway, is making it’s rounds throughout the country and will finish up it’s Philadelphia run this weekend.  Bring the whole family to see this timeless musical with such famous songs as, “Getting to Know You” and “Shall We Dance?” For tickets and more information, click here.

Spring Blooms
April 1st – May 26th – Longwood Gardens
