attachment-1-2This first weekend of December brings us lots of holiday cheer!  Not only is First Friday this weekend but there are events for all members of the family to start of this month of holiday fun!

uglysweaterArt After 5 – Ugly Sweater Party
December 2nd 5:30pm-8:45pm – Philadelphia Museum of Art

Every Friday night after 5pm the Philadelphia Museum of Art hosts a evening of music, food, drinks, and fun.  This weekend the party will be holiday themed and participants are encouraged to wear their ugliest Christmas Sweater, enjoy adult hot chocolate, card making, and music by the Debonaires!

Chestnut Hill Holiday House Tour
December 3rd 10am-4pm – Woodmere Art Museum located at 9201 Germantown Avenue

This annual event brought to you by the Chestnut Hill Community Association allows you to take a self-guided tour through five of Chestnut Hill’s beautiful historic properties. Reservations are $45 for members and $50 for non-members and can be made by calling 215-248-8810 or by visiting their website.   The homes will be decorated for the holidays, what a great way to experience our rich architecture here in Philadelphia.

santa-and-pupSanta Paws + Promenade of Trees
December 3rd 10am-6pm – Canal View Park 

The Holidays aren’t just for humans!  Get your furry friends out to Canal View Park in Manayunk this Saturday for a picture with the jolly old elf himself!  The event is free but there is a suggested $10 donation for each photo, the proceeds go to the Red Paw Emergency Relief Team.  There will also be a donation box for pet food and supplies that will go to the North Light Community Center pantry.

Following the visit with Santa will be the Promenade of Trees, in which local businesses will be judged on the decoration of their trees, the theme is past, present, and future.  The stores will have extended hours and carolers will be filling the air with holiday tunes it’s sure to get you in the spirit of the season!
