A brand new face-detection-integrated App hit the App Store this week. Goon Galaxy, a space shooter game with face-detection technology developed by a Philadelphia-based indie development company, Eychmotech.
Available in the App Store as of April 18, 2013, Goon Galaxy is a classic space shooter game updated with the powers of iOS face detection, built in cameras, and social network integration that automatically embeds you and your friends into the gameplay.
Goon Galaxy allows users to automatically turn anyone into a character in the game by simply snapping their picture with the device’s cameras or by tapping their Facebook profile picture. Faces are automatically detected and embedded within the evil aliens, known as GOONS. Users can also tap to select who will become the hero in Goon Galaxy and pilot the ship through battle. Images of the funny and memorable moments during gameplay can be snapped whenever the user likes. After each round, gameplay screen shots can be browsed and shared directly to Facebook and Twitter or saved to the device.
Goon Galaxy offers a polished interface, enticing graphics, and an exciting original soundtrack. Collect powerups, beat high scores, and complete missions while getting the goofy Goon Galaxy experience. Developer Adam Erispaha says, “If you’ve ever wanted to fly a space ship like I certainly have, this is the game for you. Going to battle with your Goonified friends is the icing on the cake.”
Goon Galaxy will be available worldwide in the App Store priced at $0.99 optimized for iPhone 4 and 4S.
