The day that alcohol was once again legal in the United States, thanks to the 21st Amendment. Celebrations broke out across the city as folks toasted the ratification on the 18th Amendment, allowing the sale, distribution, manufacturing and consumption of alcoholic beverages legal again.
We celebrate Repeal Day because December 5th marks a return to the rich traditions of craft fermentation and distillation, the legitimacy of the American bartender as a contributor to the culinary arts, and the responsible enjoyment of alcohol as a sacred social custom.” Courtesy of Repealday.org
