Here in Philadelphia we’re known for cheese steaks, soft pretzels, Tastykakes, murals, and the Liberty Bell — not necessarily friendliness and smiles. We may have coined the tagline “City of Brotherly Love,” but that doesn’t mean we always embrace what it means. However, that may be changing, at least for one day.
It has been proposed, in honor of Pope Francis and the Dalai Lama visiting, that Philadelphia issue A Day of Kindness on Tuesday, October 27 — the date the city was founded. A day where we embrace and show love to fellow Philadelphians.
It may sound cheesy, but it seems that city officials are digging the idea. Stay tuned to see how it all pans out and how you can get involved.
