The Rothman Institute Ice Rink at Dilworth Park will open for its second season on Friday, November 13. This year the rink will offer expanded hours, special events, the opportunity to learn to ice skate and the all new Rothman Cabin, where skaters can take a break from the ice to warm up and enjoy delicious food and drinks from Garces Events.

The Rothman Rink will be open every day through February 28, 2016. Admission is $3 for children ages 10 and under, $5 for adults, and skate rental is $9. Group rates are available for parties of 10 or more.

Just steps from the north side of the Rothman Ice Rink, the new Rothman Cabin will feature Cuban burgers, French fries, hot chocolate, coffee, and much more! Skaters will be able to leave the ice without removing their skates to warm up and get food and drink.

The Rothman Institute Ice Rink at Dilworth Park is accessible for everyone this season, including members of the disabled community. With generous support from Magee Rehabilitation, sled skating allows disabled children and/or adults to reserve a sled to use during scheduled sessions throughout the season. Trained rink staff will be there to assist in pushing sleds or training sled skaters in using the equipment. There will be a preview day on Saturday, November 14, from 9:00 a.m. to10:30 a.m., with weekly sessions beginning in January.

“We are looking forward to another fun-filled season of Rothman Institute Ice Rink at Dilworth Park,” said Dr. Alexander R. Vaccaro, President of Rothman Institute. “Last year was a tremendous success and this year we’ve added some amenities that are sure to enhance the experience for all. It’s our sincere hope that the people of the city and region enjoy the rink to the fullest.”

More than 46,000 skaters enjoyed the inaugural season of the Rothman Institute Ice Rink at Dilworth Park. Due to this success, the Rothman Institute Ice Rink will expand its hours.
