Champions Park Playground

910 Tustin Street Philadelphia, PA

There are several areas to play, depending on childrens’ ages. The equipment is brightly colored, and there are nice walking paths with shade trees.

Smith Memorial Playground and Playhouse

4500 Reservoir Drive, Philadelphia, PA

Located in East Fairmount Park, Smith offers a 16,000 square foot playhouse and features the historic Ann Newman Giant Wooden Slide.  Recommended for children ages 12 and under, there is lots of room to run and play, and free onsite parking.

Markward Playground

400 S Taney Street, Philadelphia, PA

Part of Schuykill River Park, the park is home to O’Conner pool, and offers a baseball field, basketball  and tennis courts, a playground and recreation center. Kids can enjoy space to run around and playground equipment to explore and enjoy.

Starr Garden Playground

600-44 Lombard Street, Philadelphia, PA

An enclosed area with equipment for kids to play, and benches and picnic tables to sit and enjoy. The area also includes a basketball court and soccer area.

DiSilvestro Playground

1701 S 15th Street, Philadelphia, PA

A fenced area where kids can run and play and enjoy playground equipment.  There is a basketball court and a sprinkler sprayground to cool off in the summer.

Chew Playground

1800 Washington Avenue, Philadelphia, PA

Almost 3 acres to run and play. There is playground equipment for young children, and fields for running and playing for older kids.  Chew Playground also offers a basketball court and swimming pool.

Weccacoe Park

400 Catherine Street, Philadelphia, PA

This playground has nice equipment for toddlers and small children, and has a tennis court.  It is a carry in/carry out park, so keep in mind there are no trash cans.

Burke Playground

200 Snyder Avenue, Philadelphia, PA

At Burke, kids have room to run around on padded ground and play and climb on the equipment.  There are slides, swings and small climbing walls.

Mayfair Memorial Playground

7444 Rowland Avenue Philadelphia, PA

A playground geared toward kids about 10 and under, there are swings, slides, and equipment to climb and play on. It is volunteer maintained, and has benches to sit and relax while your kids enjoy.

Houston Playground

900 Grakyn Lane, Philadelphia, PA

Houston offers fields for soccer and football, tennis and basketball courts, playground equipment and an outdoor hockey rink. They often offer events for kids, and there are grassy areas for strolling and playing.

Dog Parks

Big Dog Run

300 S 25th Street, Philadelphia, PA

Part of Schuykill River Park, the dog park has a section for small dogs under 30 lbs and another for larger dogs to run and play together.

Curtis Dog Park

8230 Old York Road, Elkins Park, PA

Open sunrise to sunset this park offers over an acre of fenced area for our four-legged friends to run and play off-leash. The park includes a pooper-scooper bag dispenser, benches and a separate enclosure for small breeds.

Columbus Square Dog Park

1200 Wharton St. Philadelphia, PA

A fenced-in dog park run by SPADO the South Philadelphia Association of Dog Owners.

Lanier Dog Park

2911 Tasker St. Philadelphia, PA

Operated by volunteers, this park offers a great place to let your dogs run and play, and in the summer months, they can enjoy a small pool.

Penn’s Landing Dog Park

1 N Delaware Ave. Philadelphia, PA

Featuring two separate enclosures so small dogs and big dogs can play safely, the park provides water, waste bags and great views by the water.

Seger Dog Park

1020 Lombard St. Philadelphia, PA

Run by SPDOA the Seger Park Dog Owners Association, a non-profit member-run organization. Seger Dog Run is a wonderful place to exercise your dog and also meet your neighbors who are members of the dog run.

Schuykill River Dog Park

Since 1997, the Schuylkill River Park Dog Run has offered thousands of dogs and their owners a shaded, welcome respite from the urban grind – a place for owners to relax, chat, and bond over their adorable canine companions.
