Since the first race in 1994, the GORE-TEX® Philadelphia Marathon weekend has grown from a small local event to one of the top-10 marathons in the country — now attracting an estimated 60,00 spectators, 30,000 runners, and 3,000 volunteers.  The event features the GORE-TEX® Philadelphia Marathon and Half Marathon on Sunday, November 22; the Rothman Institute 8K and Kids Fun Run on Saturday, November 21, and a free two-day Health & Fitness Expo Friday, November 20 and Saturday, November 21.

Marathon

Rothman Institute 8K

The Rothman Institute 8K (4.97 miles) is a fantastic way to take part in the race weekend excitement. Start off on the expansive Benjamin Franklin Parkway, just below the steps of the Art Museum and looking out upon City Hall, before taking a turn on the scenic banks of the Schuylkill River and Kelly Drive.

Kids Fun Run
Saturday, November 21 at November 21 at 22nd Street and Benjamin Franklin Parkway
10:30 a.m.

The Kids Fun Run, a short-distance, non-competitive event for kids ages 6-12, focuses on the cathartic and enjoyable sport of running. Each age group will run a mile or half mile distance.

Saturday, November 21 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center
