If you’re looking for a beginner friendly trail that you can enjoy on a Saturday morning with your coffee in hand, these trails are for you!

 1. Ringing Rocks Ramble (Bucks County)

Take a drive to Bucks County to visit Ringing Rocks. This short .8 mile hike is pet friendly and great for hikers of all ages.

2. Peace Valley Park (Bucks County)

At Peace Valley Park you can bike, run, or walk the 14 miles of blacktop trail around Lake Galena.

3. Delaware Canal Towpath (Bucks, Montgomery, and Philadelphia County)

The Delaware Canal Towpath is a 60 mile trail through Bucks County along the Delaware River from Easton to Bristol. This trail is pet friendly and perfect for running, walking, and biking. This trail is flat and easy to navigate perfect for a long bike ride or easy stroll.

Off The Beaten Path

Do you consider yourself adventurous and like taking the road less traveled? Consider checking out these trails that are off the beaten path and explore a new area!

1.The Forbidden Drive in Wissahickon Valley Park (Philadelphia)

This 5.5 mile trail got its name when cars were banned from driving on it in the 1920’s. This trail is great for city dwellers looking to get outside and enjoy nature.

2. Holland Highlands Blue Trail (Hunterdon County)

Make a day trip to Hunterdon County to visit the Holland Highlands Blue Trail. Located in a 500-acre park, the Musconetcong Gorge trail is located near Bloomsbury, NJ. This 3 mile trail is dog friendly and even features a waterfall!

3. Baldpate Mountain (Hopewell Township)

Bald Pate Mountain is a lesser know 6.7 mile easy to moderate trail. Also used by bicyclists, this trail features beautiful views of the Delaware River. This trail is well worth the short drive from Philadelphia!

Make it a Date

Who says hiking can’t be romantic? Shake things up a bit and instead of opting for a traditional night out, pack a picnic and check one of these trails that make for a perfect day date.

1.Concourse Lake in Fairmount Park (Philadelphia County)

Concourse Lake is one of the many hidden gems of Fairmount Park. This trail is an easy stroll to a romantic and peaceful lake tucked away from the rest of the world.

2. Washington Crossing State Park Loop (Hunterdon County)

Take a drive to Hunterdon County and experience a piece of history. The Washington Crossing State Park Loop is an easy hour and a half and offers unobstructed views of the Delaware River. Named after George Washington and his historical crossing of the Delaware River on Christmas morning, it’s the picture perfect spot for a day date.

3. Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve (Bucks County)

A short drive from Philadelphia, The Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve features trails that wind through gardens of wildflowers, meadows, and wooded acres sets the scene for a romantic date.

1.Ralph Stover Park – High Rocks Trail (Bucks County)

There are two trailheads at High Rocks and both offer some of the most beautiful views in all of Bucks County.

2. Valley Forge National Historical Park (Montgomery County)

With 19.5 miles of hiking trails, the Valley Forge National Historical Park offers picturesque views of the rolling countryside and even some original structures that date back to the American Revolutionary War.

3. Goat Hill Overlook (Hunterdon County)

This beginner friendly hike is a must if you really want to see some views. Take either the 1.0 mile or 2.4 mile trailhead for an incredible view over the Delaware River, Lambertville, NJ, and New Hope, NJ
