Today, Funky Bijou, an online jewelry boutique run by a local Philadelphia Resident, announces it will host a week long Pop Up shop event in the heart of Philadelphia’s Old City District. Art Meets Fashion-A Pop Up Shop Event, will be held at 3rd St. Gallery at 45 N. 2nd St from August 23rd to September 1st. It will merge fashion and visual arts with week long social and celebratory events.
Founded just over a year ago as a small home business, Funky Bijou has built a loyal online following. By opening shop in the local community, Founder Monique Dundas hopes to translate this online success into the brick and mortar arena. States the founder, “My vision is to create an experience, rather than sell jewelry. Yes, we all like to wear pretty things, but the true experience happens when the things we wear interact with our everyday familiarities. A moment at your home vanity, a visit to an art gallery, the things we wear are the background for each and every one of these experiences.”
The Pop Up Shop will host a variety of events, including Trunk Shows, Artist Features, and Happy Hour.
