This is a rare opportunity to come together as a community as we bring together our region’s top genius leaders who have dedicated their lives to the patients and families affected by ALS as well as finding a cure.

We will specifically shine a spotlight on the team from the MDA/ALS Center of Hope and their Neuromuscular Research Lab and delve into the extensive network of medical institutions and researchers who are collaborating to accelerate ALS research as members of NEALS (the Northeast Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) Consortium.

Nick Elmi Cooks the Book

Beaujolais Nouveau Day at a.kitchen

The third Thursday in November means one thing — the release of this year’s Beaujolais Nouveau made from gamay grapes out of the Beaujolais region of France. At a.kitchen, the celebration includes wine and, of course, spectacular food. Wine will be available by the glass or bottle in accompaniment of a prix fixe menu.

    • The entree highlight will be pot-au-feu, a French-inspired beef stew

a.kitchen Choucroute + Cider Fest

a.kitchen returns with its annual Choucroute and Cider Fest which will run from November 2 through November 30 this year. While this festival is a tradition of sorts for a.kitchen + bar, this year’s iteration will look slightly different. Food offerings will include choucroute garnie for $35 per person, which will be available with any choice of refreshing ciders provided by french producer, Julien Thurel. Ciders will also be available as a part of a.kitchen + bar’s participation in Philly Cider Week which runs from November 1 to 8. In addition, a.bar will offer a sausage and kraut dog during Choucroute and Cider Fest for those who wish to indulge in some bar-style choucroute eats! Arts in Action Grant Information Session

Laurel: Modern American Flavors in Philadelphia – Book Talk and Tasting

The Nutcracker presented by the Pennsylvania Academy of Ballet Society

For over 25 years, the Pennsylvania Academy of Ballet has been bringing the holiday classic ballet “The Nutcracker” to our stage. A fun way for families to kick off the holiday season, the annual tradition features professional soloists and many of the region’s best dancers. The enchanting music by Tchaikovsky is one of his best-known works and the ballet, set at Christmas time, has become an American holiday tradition.

Audience members are invited to take pictures with the cast members after the Saturday performances. Before and after the show the lobby is a winter wonderland filled with nutcracker gifts ideal for holiday shopping.
