Heat and air quality alerts are in effect in the Philadelphia region today, Friday, June 12, from noon through 8:00 p.m. It could be the hottest day of the year so far. Forecasters say high temperatures are expected to reach the mid 90s, potentially reaching the record for the date of 95 degrees,
Not only is the heat causing many Philadelphian’s to sweat, but it also prompted our city’s public schools to close early. The announcement came this morning and students were dismissed at 12:00 noon. The Philadelphia Archdiocesan Schools also closed at noon, but that was already scheduled due to the last day of classes.
