Pennsylvania Ski Resorts Bring Romance to the Slopes this February with Special Deals and Fun Events
Last weekend, I went skiing for the first time. As a girl from the Poconos, it always seemed funny that I had never experienced one of the areas greatest tourist attractions. And now, as a girl living in Philly, I am constantly bombarded with billboards of skiing in the Poconos or hearing people’s stories of their weekend ski getaways to the Poconos. For awhile, there was a giant Poconos ski billboard plastered right outside my apartment window, reminding me every day that I hadn’t experienced the one winter adventure that was drawing everyone up north. This year, it was time to break my ski-less streak and give it a try. With an experienced skier in tow, I trekked to Camelback Mountain Resort in Tannersville and I hit the slopes for the first time. It had its moments of terror (don’t venture off the bunny slope too soon!), but also some moments of exhilaration as I swiveled down the white hills in the early-morning February sun. While I have a lot to learn and a lot to practice, I enjoyed my first ski experience for what it was: a fun way to challenge myself while getting exercise outside in a beautiful natural setting. I look forward to my next time on the slopes!
This month, the Pennsylvania Ski Areas Association is enticing snow lovers to hit the slopes, rekindle the romance and take advantage of some sizzling mid-winter specials and events. As many people from the Philadelphia area love to ski and venture out of town to find their next snowy adventure, this list should help to direct any last-minute ski trip plans for Valentine’s Day or otherwise.
From $14 lift tickets to champagne tastings and romantic dinners for two, the Pennsylvania Ski Resorts are a great place to spend time with loved ones and friends. And, the fun doesn’t end after Valentine’s Day; many of the resorts have a full calendar of events planned all month-long.
