Thousands of craft brew fans flocked to the Pennsylvania Convention Center over the weekend for the second annual Big Philly Beerfest. The event, presented by Fat Head’s Brewery, featured more than 300 Craft Beers and vendors selling everything from engraved flasks, to cheese curd, to gourmet dog biscuits.
Yes, dog biscuits. The beer festival raised funds for Animal Rescue Partners, a local organization dedicated to supporting animal rescues, pet adoption, and community spay/neuter programs.
Here is a roundup of the 5 Best Things about the beerfest:
1.) The t-shirts
No beerfest is complete without some hilarious t-shirts. (And when they’re stained in bacon grease, that’s even better).
2.) Airbrush tattoos:
No explanation needed.
3.) The silent disco:
A silent disco, or a silent rave, is an event where people dance to music listened to through wireless headphones. We’re sure it’s fun to do, but it’s even more fun to watch!
4.) Shock Top Twisted Pretzel Wheat (limited edition):
Hands-down one of the most unique and delicious beers at the event. It was like drinking a pub pretzel.
5.) The Lava Game:
This cover band from Pittsburgh specializes in throwing an unforgettable party–and that’s exactly what they did at the beerfest. People were jamming out, beers in hand, to the upbeat rhythms of all the best rock, hip-hop, and pop hits of the last few decades.
