18th Annual Grand Illumination

American Heritage Credit Union’s Annual Grand Illumination celebration is the perfect event to kick-off the holiday season. The free Grand Illumination has become one of the most beloved holiday traditions in Philadelphia and includes the lighting of two 40-foot Christmas trees, hundreds of wreaths, and over 400,000 lights. At Grand Illumination, families can enjoy the sounds of the holiday season. In the spirit of giving, attendees are encouraged to bring a canned food item to help American Heritage reach its goal of 20,000 pounds for its annual holiday food drive.

Manayunk Gets Lit

Manayunk Gets LIT Competition officially launches on November 20 when Main Street lights up with more than eighty thousand lights! Every year, Manayunk Main Street gets lit with local businesses decorating their storefronts for a chance to get first place in the annual decorating competition.

Jolly Trolley | Manayunk

Bring the family to Main Street all season long for Get Lit weekends which will feature food and drink deals, shopping specials, festive live entertainment, and the FREE Manayunk Jolly Trolley. The Jolly Trolley will run up and down Main Street making several stops at your favorite businesses! Plus, it’s the best way to take in all the twinkling Get Lit lights.

Holiday Light Tours

Starting November 29
Pick up location: 12th and Filbert Streets

Take a family fun tour through some of Philly’s favorite neighborhoods to see the most spectacular lights on a Victorian Trolley decked out with lights and music. Enjoy BYOB, fun, games, and sing a long with everyone to have those child hood memories come back. Some featured neighborhoods and sights include Smedley Street, Miracle on 13th Street, Christmas Village/Love Park, City Hall Tree and Dilworth Plaza, Comcast Building, Washington Square and Franklin Square.

Holiday Spectacular | Comcast Center

November 28 – January 1

The sights and sounds of the holidays come alive in this free, 15-minute show, The Comcast Holiday Spectacular, which has quickly become a new holiday tradition in Philadelphia. Marvel at holiday scenes brought to life in this multi-sensory show, featuring classics like Jingle Bell Rock, The Twelve Days of Christmas and The Nutcracker​​​​​; a magic flying sleigh ride through the city and countryside; and a festive sing-along.  The show takes place at the top of every hour from 10 am – 8 pm, except at 5 pm. Sensory-friendly shows are held daily at 2:30 pm.

Morris Arboretum Holiday Garden Railway & Cottage

Make your holiday even more magical with a visit to the Holiday Garden Railway, as it is transformed for the season with thousands of twinkling lights. The Morris Cottage is decked out for the holidays. It’s a perfect spot for festive photos with family and friends. New this year: A 60-foot Holiday Tunnel illuminated with thousands of twinkling lights.

Luminature | Philadelphia Zoo

LumiNature is back for another season of sights, sounds, and surprises through January 4! See more than a million twinkling lights across 16 illuminated zones at their biggest and brightest holiday light show yet. There will be 16 illuminated zones, a 22 foot tall butterfly tree covered in 4,000 butterflies, a 40 foot tall penguin glowing with 40,000 lights, a path with light performers in animal-themed costumes, a sparkling light waterfall, a 100 foot long jungle tunnel and so much more.

Wanamaker Light Show & Dickens Village

November 28 – December 24
The Wanamaker Building, 100 E. Penn Square, Philadelphia, PA

For over 50 years, dancing snowflakes, snowmen and reindeer — brought to life by hundreds of thousands of twinkling lights and a festive soundtrack backed by the world-famous Wanamaker Organ — have brightened the days of holiday revelers during the Wanamaker Light Show (formerly the Macy’s Light Show). The Wanamaker Light Show is free to attend, no tickets required, and runs every hour on the half hour during opening hours, while free timed tickets are required for Dickens Village.

Tree Lighting | Manayunk

Manayunk lights up for the holidays on November 20, 2025 with their annual tree-lighting ceremony! Come out to at Canal View Park (4418 Main Street) at 5:30PM where there will be special guests and live performances.

Tree Lighting | Roxborough

December 6, 12 pm – 6 pm
6170 Ridge Ave, Philadelphia, PA

Come and enjoy a day full of holiday fun at Pocket Park in Roxborough. There will be an artisan market, snowflake scavenger hunt, ugly sweater contest, crafts, a visit from Santa and a tree lighting at 5:30 pm.

Tree Lighting | Old City

December 3, 6 pm
Betsy Ross House, 239 Arch Street, Philadelphia, PA

The annual Tree Lighting returns to the Betsy Ross House courtyard featuring live musical performances, special guest speakers, and a visit from Santa Claus. The festive evening kicks off the holiday season with a spectacular illumination ceremony beneath the stars on the same cobblestone streets where American independence was born.
