2024 Philly Fall Guide

The 40th annual Fall for the Arts Festival will transform Germantown Avenue into an outdoor arts and craft marketplace. The popular family-friendly, pet-friendly event features live demonstrations, children’s activities, live music, culinary delights, and boutique shopping. The streets between the 8000 and 8600 blocks of Germantown Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic to provide ample space for visitors and vendors.

Linvilla Orchards’ Apple Festival honors apples every autumn. This event is scheduled when Pick-Your-Own apples are most commonly at the height of their season and you can choose from the many varieties grown right at Linvilla. The Apple Festival is scheduled for Saturday, September 28th, 2024. Pumpkinland will also be in full swing, bring your whole family for a fun-filled day! Experience costumed characters, games & contests, and live music.

Midtown Village Fall Festival attracts thousands of visitors in one day to experience a variety of activities including multiple stages of live entertainment, food and beverage sampling, merchant and vendor displays, crafters, children’s activities and more!

This fall the lawn at Dilworth Park will transform for Maze Days – 10 days of fall fun for everyone. Mark your calendar for this autumn experience that includes children’s storytime, themed happy hours in the seasonal beer garden, special appearances from Philly Goat Project, pumpkin carving and more. On Saturdays, October 19 and 26, come for afternoons full of music, fresh apple cider making, a stein-hoisting contest hosted by Broad Street Brewing, Not So Silent Cinema and Bingo with prizes.

The Philadelphia Film Festival, presented by the Philadelphia Film Society, is the region’s premier film event. Throughout the year, the Film Society’s artistic team scours the world’s most prestigious film festivals – from Sundance to Berlin, Cannes to Toronto – for the year’s most highly anticipated, critically acclaimed, and innovative films. Now in its 48th year, the Philadelphia Museum of Art Contemporary Craft Show features unique, one-of-a-kind works by artists from across the United States. The 2024 Show will welcome a total of 195 talented artists representing 13 diverse categories of art and design plus 24 guest artists from Italy.

Check out Arbooetum, Morris Arboretum’s fall festivities. The 17th Annual Scarecrow Design Contest will be on display from October 1 -31. Visit the Morris Pumpkin Cottage, a 100-square foot exhibit covered in hundreds of pumpkins of various shapes and sizes. The cottage, a throwback to when the area around the Morris used to be known as “Pumpkintown,” is tucked at the end of the Pumpkin Promenade, small trail lined with pumpkins, gourds, scarecrows and more.
