Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival

When: July 4th, 6-11 pm
Where: Franklin Square, 200 N. 6th Street, Philadelphia

The Dragon is back! Returning for the first time in 3 years, the Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival in Franklin Square is a celebration of light and culture with spectacular steel-framed and silk-wrapped giant lighted sculptures. The 2022 Festival will illuminate Franklin Square at 6th and Race Streets in historic Philadelphia from June 21-August 7th nightly, with over 30 larger than life displays in bright colors.

Independence Day at Philadelphia National Constitution Center

When: July 4th, 10 am – 5 pm
Where: Independence Mall, 525 Arch Street, Philadelphia

Join the National Constitution Center for patriotic festivities, exploring the history of the Declaration of Independence and how the definition of “We the People” has expanded since 1776. Attend the interactive Independence Day show and American Flag History and Etiquette workshops, as well as create Colonial-era arts and crafts and stop by the museum’s Revolutionary War encampment on the museum’s front lawn. The event is free in recognition of Independence Day.

The 4th at the Fort

When: July 4th, 10 am – 4 pm
Where: Fort Mifflin, 6400 Hog Island Road, Philadelphia

Celebrate American Independence at an intact Revolutionary War battlefield! Learn the story of the greatest bombardment of the American Revolution during guided tours, musket and cannon demonstrations and Revolutionary War Soldier Life display. BYO picnic to enjoy in the shaded, riverfront picnic area. Reserve a picnic table ($10) with patriotic table coverings and garbage bags provided. Unreserved tables are first come, first serve.

Party on the Parkway

When: July 4th, 12 pm – 7 pm
Where: Benjamin Franklin Parkway,

The Party on the Parkway is back and the entertainment is non-stop. There will be two performance stages – Pennsylvania Lottery Groove Stage and the Rumba 106.1 Dance Party. Enjoy a day-long party jam packed with entertainment, games, food trucks, giveaways and more. Kids can enjoy fun games and activities at the PECO Kids Zone! There will be a book giveaway, courtesy of Books in Homes USA and before the concert begins, be sure to check in with PA Turnpike for a chance to win access to the front section of the July 4th Concert via the E-ZPass Fast Pass!
