Last Wednesday, customers at SkyGarten got their first taste of the aerial hot spot’s spiked hot chocolate bar.  For a limited time during the holiday season, hot chocolate will be served in a variety of delectable ways to warm the soul–with Bourbon Cream, Fireball, or Peppermint Schnapps.

SkyGarten, located on the 51st floor of Three Logan Square at 1717 Arch St., also offers a variety of authentic German brews. The SkyGarten Hot Chocolate Bar will be open Wednesdays through Saturdays.

Though you won’t be able to replicate SkyGarten’s stunning views at home, you can experiment with your own fabulous spiked hot chocolate delights. Here are some quick and easy ideas for jazzing up your next cup of hot chocolate:

1.) For a smooth combination of orange and chocolate, add some Grand Marnier.

2.) For those of you who can’t let go of all things pumpkin spice, add some pumpkin liquor or pumpkin vodka.

3.) For those “Thin Mints” fans out there, try adding some Peppermint Schnapps and tequila for a fresh minty taste.

4.) For a smooth creamy taste, add 2 ounces of RumChata. For extra zest, add a sprinkle of cinnamon on top.

5.) To create a hot chocolate martini, just add vanilla vodka and Bailey’s.

6.) For an extra-chocolately mint taste, add Kahlua along with Peppermint Schnapps.

7.) If you don’t have marshmallows on hand, try adding some Marshmallow vodka.

8.) For a chocolate-covered-cherry treat, add vodka, Maraschino cherry juice, whipped cream, and maraschino cherries on top. (For best results, soak the cherries in vodka beforehand).

9.) For a Bourbon-Pecan delight, add 1 ounce of Bourbon, whipped cream, caramel syrup, and pecans sprinkled on top.

10.) For a delightful combination of two holiday favorites, add some eggnog, 1 ounce of rum, whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
