Sip mimosas and enjoy a catered brunch as you and your mom, grandmother, favorite aunt or best friend spend some quality time learning something new and making pottery that you’ll cherish for years to come.

On Sunday, May 10 from 10:00 a.m. to noon, the artists and instructors at the Clay Studio in Philadelphia will walk you and your mom through some simple techniques on the potter’s wheel and then will let you work together to create your own unique piece of pottery. Anything you make that day will be glazed, fired, and ready for you in approximately two weeks. The best part, no prior experience is needed.

For those of you who may not be familiar with the Clay Studio, it was established in 1974 as a non-profit educational institution dedicated to the promotion and development of the ceramic arts and the work of clay artists. Today, it provides a unique learning environment for diverse audiences to experience the ceramic arts. It’s one of the world’s leading ceramic art institutions and is dedicated to supporting local, national, and international ceramic artists. It conducts programs that help both the emerging and professional artist like five-year residencies, artist associate programs, and work-exchange opportunities.

Tickets for the Mother’s Day event are $65.00/$60.00 per person. For more information and to register, click here.
