Let them inspire ideas that work for your children’s ages and interests. And be sure to check out some additional ideas and helpful links with fun activities and educational websites at the end.
Monday, May 11:
Mondays can be hard for everyone, even kids. So to start everyone off feeling calm and centered, try some yoga and meditation with the kids!

Today’s activity comes from the Bucks County Children’s Museum. Even though the museum doors are closed, they’re posting videos and details on their website. Click here for a Painting with Watercolors and Salt activity that combines art and chemistry.
And if your kids are missing the museum (or want a peek at what they could do when they reopen), take the virtual tour at this link.
Wednesday, May 13:
Earlier in the month would have typically been Free Comic Book Day, where participating comic book stores give away specially printed copies of free comic books and offer other special deals and events. Thursday, May 14:
Tomorrow is National Chocolate Chip Day, so to make sure you’re prepared to celebrate … bake something with the kids today! You could also spread a little cheer by delivering to grandparents or other nearby friends, relatives and neighbors.

Friday, May 15:
Celebrate the 15th annual Endangered Species Day by learning about endangered species and what we can do to protect them.

It’s Armed Forces Day, a day to recognize members of the Armed Forces that are currently serving. (This is also a great time to discuss the difference between Memorial Day, Veterans Day and Armed Forces Day.)
Sunday, May 17:
April showers bring May flowers! We certainly got out fill of rain in April, and now it’s time to celebrate those flowers! Go for a walk and take pictures of the different flowers you see. When you come home, make a list of the different varieties. Help the kids look up the ones that they don’t know. They could even try drawing them from the photos you took and create a book.
If you’d like a flower craft to do, here are some ideas:
