Imagine living in a world where everyone was focused on sustainability and reducing their use of the Earth’s natural resources. A world where we all thought about the kind of car we take to work, how much energy we use in our houses/apartments, what we eat and how we dispose of our trash. It’s a nice idea, right?

Believe it or not there are people out there who care enough about making this idea a reality that they started a business focused on making it easier for their fellow Philadelphian’s to live this way too. People like Morgan Berman, who care enough to create tools like My MilkCrate, which engages and encourages people to live sustainable lifestyles.

What is My MilkCrate? It’s an app that connects you to a database of more than 2,000 green businesses in the Philadelphia area. It’s a great app and a win-win situation for viewers and businesses — you get to find businesses that match your lifestyle and business owners get to work to increase their revenue by reaching conscientious consumers that support their mission.

MilkCrate’s database is fed by partner organizations, such as the Sustainable Business Network of Greater Philadelphia, Fair Food, The Human League, Clean Air Council, and others that are focused sustainability.

If you already like to shop locally and want to try living more sustainably, why not try the app. I know I’m going to use it to look for some hidden sustainably treasures in my area.
