This Sunday, February 1, an estimated 184 million Americans are expected to watch Super Bowl XLIX, 23 million people plan to host Super Bowl parties, and 13 million people will head out to a local bar to watch the game. That’s a whole lot of football watching, especially if you’re not a big sports fan – like me.
While most people are focusing on the six primary numbers related to Super Bowl Sunday – overall consumer spending that day, commercial costs, ticket prices, points scored, data use at the stadium and how many people are actually at the event – I’m thinking about what six things I can do that day that don’t involve sports.
Here’s what I’ve come up with, feel free to join me if you’d like:
Adopt A Four-Legged Friend
On Sunday the Pennsylvania SPCA located on East Erie Avenue is offering 49% off adoption fees for all cats and kittens in honor of the Hallmark Channel’s Second Annual Kitten Bowl. And you don’t necessarily have to be a cat person either since there will be adorable dogs and puppies their too!
Test Drive Some Awesome Cars
The 2015 Philadelphia Auto Show, produced and owned by the Automobile Dealers Association of Greater Philadelphia, rolls into the Pennsylvania Convention Center this Saturday, January 31 – just in time for Super Bowl Sunday. This year’s event features 700 vehicles from a variety of worldwide manufacturers.
