Shake-Shack-Mural-Arts-540x332We have exciting news…

The Shake Shack downtown is teaming up with the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program, its charity partner, to create a permanent mural on the wall above the Shack at 20th & Sansom Streets. What’s even more exciting is that they are inviting us – the public – to help them paint!

The new mural – titled “Summer Rendezvous”– will capture the whimsy and family-friendly spirit of the Shake Shack experience while paying homage to Philadelphia’s lush parks and green spaces. It is set to be dedicated in December of this year.

The muralist behind the project is Philly native David Guinn. Since 1998, Guinn has painted more than 35 murals throughout Philadelphia and other cities in North America including New York, Washington DC, and Montréal. His work has been shown in galleries and museums including The Fabric Workshop and Museum, Woodmere Art Museum, The Galleries at Moore College of Art and Design, and The Rosenwald-Wolf Gallery at University of the Arts.

You can join fellow Philadelphians at the Shack this Saturday, October 18th from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. for a FREE public paint day. They’ll have art supplies Shack swag, and plenty of refreshments to fuel your creative energy.
