Urban Village Brewing Company is excited to host a happy hour book signing with local author Amy Strauss on Thursday, October 19 from 5-7 p.m. Amy’s debut book, Pennsylvania Scrapple: A Delectable History, was released on October 9, 2017 and is an ode to the iconic Pennsylvania Dutch food, tracing the sizzling history and culture of scrapple from its origination by German settlers of Pennsylvania to the breakfast meat’s resurgence amongst a new generation of chefs who are creating exciting ways to eat the staple.
Amy will be on site to meet, greet and talk all things scrapple. Signed books will be available for purchase for $20. Urban Village’s chef, Chris Davis, will prepare a special scrapple pizza featuring the beloved breakfast meat that will be available all weekend long ($16; $8 during happy hour). The brewery’s standard happy hour specials will also be in effect from 5-7 p.m.: $3 pints, $6 glasses of wine and half-off all pizzas.
