Schmear It bagel truck is joining forces with Matt & Marie’s to bring signature bagels and schmears to the popular Center City lunch scene. It all started last Monday, March 2, and will run on all subsequent Mondays in March.
Since hitting the streets in August 2013, Schmear It has become a breakfast staple at LOVE Park and throughout University City. In addition to its custom crafted spreads (on renowned South Street Philly bagels), La Colombe and Rival Bros. coffee – Schmear It “spreads some good” by featuring local nonprofit organizations. The truck acts as a marketing and fundraising vehicle for these causes, promoting their missions and donating a portion of sales.
During the pop up every Monday in March, Matt & Marie’s will be brewing its Illy coffee to pair with your fresh toasted and schmeared bagel. After breakfast, the sandwich shop will be offering its regular lunch and dinner fare. Meanwhile, the Schmear It truck itself will be continuing its normal Monday vending at UPenn on 38th from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and is bringing back its popular caprese schmear – fresh basil, tomatoes, olive oil, ground pepper, and a touch of sea salt mixed into cream cheese – as a nod to its Italian partner.
