Schuylkill River Arts Day   
Saturday July 16th 10am-2pm – East Fairmount Park
Live performances illuminate the river while audiences boat, play and picnic along the Schuylkill River.

Start at 10am at Mander Playground and you will be entertained by Positive Movement, a drill team from Strawberry Mansion. Then walk as a group through beautiful Boxer’s Trail to Kelly Drive. Leading this walk will be the dancers, drummers and singers from the African Diaspora Artist Collective.
Once you arrive at Kelly Drive, enjoy a day of boating, performance, fishing, food and much more!

There will be free Phlash Shuttles to return you to Mander Playground and the Philadelphia Art Museum.

Bastille Day Eastern State Penitentiary 246 copyBastille day at Eastern State Penitentiary 
Saturday July 16th 2pm – Eastern State Penitentiary
Bastille day is back at the Eastern State Penitentiary!  The French family carnival starts at 2pmat 5:30pm the FREE ‘Storming of the Bastille’ performance will commence. astern State Penitentiary is teaming up with The Bearded Ladies, an experimental cabaret troupe, to present the entire French Revolution in an hour-long spectacle of song, dance, beheading, and raining Tastykakes for the penitentiary’s annual Bastille Day festival. This “completely historically accurate” reenactment of the storming of the Bastille will be emceed by the voice of Paris herself, Edith Piaf, and will include appearances by Napoleon, Joan of Arc, Benjamin Franklin, and a six-foot French Baguette.
This year’s performance will tackle bathroom liberation, the Flint water crisis, the DNC, and super delegates. (What makes them super? Can they fly?!) Expect confetti cannons, stilt walkers, a cardboard horse, and a catwalk so long it divides the whole of Fairmount Avenue. For more information click here to visit the event website.

July 14-24 – University City

University City Dining Days will return this year from Thursday, July 14 to Sunday, July 24. Now in its 12th year, Dining Days is the “3 courses, 3 prices” promotion at some of University City’s most popular dining destinations.
