On Saturday, October 29 from 10 a.m.–1 p.m., the South Street Headhouse District will transform into a fun-filled fall fairground for its annual Pumpkinland Event. As an official kick-off to the autumn season, kids can experiece the city’s only downtown pumpkin patch at Pumpkinland, which aims to bring the farm to the city for families to enjoy.

The day will begin with activities under the Historic Headhouse Square Shambles, including Sleep Hollow Farm’s pony rides and petting zoo, Make-N-Take Art & Pumpkin Decorating with the Queen Village Art Center, Wilby Band kids rock band performance, face painting, balloon art and more. Kids should don their spookiest and most creative apparel for a costume parade and contest around The Shambles at noon.

There’s also a festive pet category, so bring along your dog! The district is also excited to launch their newest social media campaign, with QR codes on Pumpkinland posters throughout the city. Spot a poster and scan the code to be prompted to tweet a special Pumpkinland message. Those who play will be entered to win various prizes sponsored by the district. Immediately following the event, at 1:15 p.m., families are also invited to participate in an SSHD Community Bike Ride with the Police Officers of the Mini-Station throughout the district.
