The Philadelphia Orchestra

The Philadelphia Orchestra

If you’ve had the pleasure of hearing the Philadelphia Orchestra you’ll understand why it’s among the Big Five American orchestras. Formed by conductor Fritz Scheel in 1900, the orchestra is renowned for its distinctive sound, desired for its keen ability to capture the hearts and imaginations of audiences, and admired for a legacy of innovation in music-making.

Now, those who enjoy the orchestra’s sound can do more than simply applaud them after a show – they can cast their vote and rank them as the “World’s Favourite”.

Bachtrack, an organization known as the largest online classical event finder, is currenty conducting a poll to find out which orchestra is the “World’s Favourite”. People are invited –now until Monday, October 6 – to cast their vote. It could be the orchestra they think is the best technically, the one whose sound they love the most, and/or the one they’ve been going to hear from the longest time.

To cast your vote, visit Bachtrack’s site at http://www.bachtrack.com/Worlds-Favourite-Orchestra-2014.
