The Philadelphia International Flower Show is a longstanding tradition, known for exquisite floral showcases and unforgettable experiences. This year, visitors will experience the show – “Hawaii: Islands of Aloha” – as never before with customized theme days and nights. The largest indoor flower show in the world will celebrate the Aloha spirit when it blooms March 4-11, 2012 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

2012 Theme Nights:

LGBT Night: The 2012 Flower Show invites the LGBT community for an evening of networking at its second annual LGBT Night on Monday, March 5. Presented by G Philly, guests will enjoy an evening of cocktails and food samplings, kicked-off by a special introduction from PHS President Drew Becher in an exclusive VIP area. Guests will also have the opportunity to meet and greet with Phillip Watson, QVC Garden Expert and Author of Pleasure Gardens; his debut book featuring more than 350 photos of gorgeous garden designs taken by Phillip himself.

Wedding Wednesday: Presented by Philadelphia Wedding Magazine, brides-to-be are invited for “Wedding Wednesday”, Wednesday, March 7. Bring your bridesmaids, and get advice (and take-aways!) from local fashion, music, catering, honeymoon, and photography experts. Sample champagne and food while you check out a variety of DIY demonstrations for great wedding ideas.

Girls Night Out: Grab the girls and let loose on Thursday, March 8 as Philadelphia Style magazine and the Flower Show present the second annual “Girls Night Out” event. A special evening tailored just for the ladies, featuring exclusive food & wine tastings, health & beauty samplings and tutorials, shopping, raffles, and more from Philadelphia’s most coveted brands and retailers including 611 Lifestyle, Rittenhouse Women’s Wellness Center, Hotel Palomar, Charcoal BYOB, Square 1682 and more.

Family Day: The Flower Show has always been focused on families, but this year the activities are bigger and better than ever! In conjunction with Universal Studio’s 2012 release of “The Lorax,” PHS has arranged special activities for kids to enjoy, including a meet & greet with The Lorax himself! Say hello and snap a picture with the tree-loving creature when he is at the show on Sundays, March 4 and March 11 from 2-5pm. Also on those Sundays at 2pm in the Family Lounge – sponsored by Einstein Healthcare Network – children will enjoy an exclusive reading of “The Lorax” by two very special guests; WXPN Kids’ Corner host Kathy O’Connell on March 4 and Lisa Nutter, wife of the Mayor on March 11.

The 2012 Philadelphia International Flower Show, “Hawaii: Islands of Aloha,” will be presented March 4-11 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Revenues from the Flower Show benefit the year-round work of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, and this year will support City Harvest, the innovative program that brings together a network of urban farmers, provides green job training, and grows fresh produce for more than 1,000 families in need each week.
