June is National Adopt-a-Cat Month and we at Philly Happening want to help the many cats in our area find fur-ever homes!  We are working with PAWS, the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society, to help shed light on some of the kitties most in need of a home.  This month we’d like to introduce you to Andora and Kitty!

AndoraAndora is currently at the Old City PAWS adoption center on 2nd and Arch Streets.  She has been there since mid-April and was rescued from West Philadelphia.  West Philly has a lot of strays so a concerned group of citizens started the organization, Project Meow, which stands for “Make EveryOne Wanted”.  The group works with PAWS clinics and adoption centers to trap-neuter-release to help control the population, find foster and eventually fur-ever homes for the strays.  So just like Philly’s own Will Smith Andora is from “West Philadelphia born and raised!”

Andora has chubby cheeks and likes to receive attention on her own terms.  After some time in the adoption center she started to get sad living most of the time in a cage, she has since been moved to a small bathroom the PAWS facility as they use all the space they have.  Now that she has a little more space she is improving but having a foster or fur-ever home would surly make all this difference for this furry feline.  The team at PAWS believe that Andora would be most comfortable in a home with at least one bedroom, no small children, and no other pets.  Someone who knows a cats personality might work best and since she is quite independent someone who works long hours but still wants a companion to come home to might be the purfect fit!  Do you think you might be the perfect human for Andora?  For more information contact PAWS at 215-238-9901 or email at adoptions@phillypaws.org.

kittyKitty has been at the Northeast PAWS adoption center for a year now and would love to have a home of her own.  She came to PAWS through ACCT Philly (Animal Care and Control Team of Philadelphia) from a home that was over run with too many animals.  Kitty, who is probably about 4 years old, is very funny and loves to play.  This sassy lady loves toys and chasing the laser pointer but also likes to chill in the window and soak up the sun. She would fit best into a home that has no small children or other pets at this point. Are you a good fit to give Miss Kitty a place to play and sleep?  For more information contact PAWS Northeast Adoption Center at 215-545-9600 or email at neclinic@phillypaws.org.
