Immersive Art Installation to Bring Philadelphia Arts and Mural Traditions to Life

At FIGMAGO, you become the artist

Secret passageways, live dancing shadows, and color changing murals await visitors at FIGMAGO, Philadelphia’s imaginative new tourist attraction. Opening in July, this hands-on art adventure is the latest collaboration between internationally renowned muralist, Meg Saligman Studio, and preeminent dance company, Brian Sanders’ JUNK.

Philadelphia is globally distinguished for its vibrant cultural attractions, and the artists hope to expand upon the city’s offerings with a “mural that comes to life.” This hour-long experience begins with a behind-the-scenes tour of Saligman’s working mural studio. The tour takes a twist when guests discover portals into an alternate reality of exquisite art, acrobatic dance, and tactile immersion. The artists describe FIGMAGO as “entering the wacky mind of a muralist…part dance performance, part art installation, part room escape…and all parts wonderful.”

FIGMAGO will be open Wednesdays through Sundays starting July 18 and will run through this fall. Ten FIGMAGO: Alive performances take place every week during select times on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. It is located at 825 Bainbridge Street in Philadelphia.

Tickets to FIGMAGO and FIGMAGO: Alive are available online at FIGMAGO.com and cost $24 (FIGMAGO) and $38 (FIGMAGO: ALIVE) with discounts for “Lil Figgies,” 12 years old and younger.
